Privacy notice

Souffleur helps stage actors learn their lines. To do that we store your scripts and progress, and send parts of your scripts to AI providers to analyze them and generate practice audio. This notice explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and the rights you have over it.

Who is responsible

Souffleur (souffleur.co) is the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, write to contact@souffleur.co.

What we collect

Account data: your email address, display name and interface language, provided when you sign up (directly or via Google sign-in).

Your content: scripts you import or write, the roles you choose, notes, practice progress, chat messages with the AI coach, and audio generated from your scripts.

Usage data: which AI features you use and their cost, so we can enforce fair-use limits. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type) are kept briefly for security and debugging.

We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell data. Cookies are limited to what sign-in strictly requires.

How your scripts are processed

When you import a script or use an AI feature, the script text is sent to Anthropic (Claude) for analysis, proofreading and scene-partner chat, and to Amazon Web Services (Polly) to synthesize voice audio. These providers process the text to deliver the feature and do not use it to train their models under the terms we use them with.

Your scripts belong to you. They are visible only to you and to cast members you explicitly invite. We never publish, share or redistribute them.

Where your data lives

The database and authentication are hosted by Supabase; the application is hosted by Vercel; generated audio is stored in Supabase Storage; transactional emails (sign-up confirmations, password resets, invitations) are sent through Resend. Each of these providers acts as a processor on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Your account data and content are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (Account → Delete account), your scripts, generated audio, progress and personal data are permanently erased; anonymized usage totals may be retained for accounting.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, export or erase your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this you can do directly in the app; for anything else, contact contact@souffleur.co. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).

Changes

If we change this notice in a meaningful way, we will flag it in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
